Yamaha YTR-8445 Xeno Series C Trumpet. As close to new as used gets.
Wow what a great horn this is. In the summer of 2004 I traveled to the (now shuttered) Yamaha factory in Grand Rapids Michigan to pick out a C trumpet. I was there for hours playing all the different models and different horns within the same model and knew I found the right one when I played this particular Xeno series C trumpet. Soon after, I decided Orchestral music wasn't for me and I focused on Jazz so this Trumpet got very little use over the years. I love all my instruments deeply, so I've been keeping it in good shape all this time.
Slotting between registers feels so natural. The valves are like melted butter. The slides all move as they should, except the 2nd valve slide that can get a little sticky. Intonation and tone are wonderful. There is one small ding on the underside of the bell that can kind of be seen in the last picture.
This trumpet is a joy to play. There is a reason that you do not see the 8445 Xeno series for sale used very often and it is because they are fantastic. If you are local to Los Angeles you may message me if you want to stop by and test it out.
This trumpet comes with my soft gig bag, which can hold three trumpets (or two trumpets and a bunch of mutes and things.)
