    Description

Ever feel like you are literally DROWNING in cornets and trumpets? No? Then you are not me. I need to get rid of the under-played instruments from my basement. Some of them
are great, some mediocre at best, but they all looked interesting at one time or another. Maybe they’ll be interesting for you too.
Here’s a battered case that hides a fairly decent early OLDS AMBASSADOR TRUMPET. Widely regarded as the best student horn ever made, the Amby was in production from just after WWII until Olds closed its doors in 1979 or so. This one (serial number 14296x) is from the early days of the run, when the factory was still in Los Angeles— these LA horns have pride of place among the Ambassadors. This one is a ‘project in pretty decent shape’. All water keys seal, all valve slides move; sadly, the main slide is stuck. The valves all move well, and though they show wear, compression is good. Very few dents, the biggest near the 3rd valve, bell is nicely intact. Most of the original lacquer is there. The case is era-appropriate, not sure if it’s original, that needs its latches fixed. The ‘Ambassador’ case badge was hanging by a thread, so I took it off but it’s included. Also includes an Olds 3 mouthpiece. A clean-and-lube should have this up and playing in no time. Low start bid of FIFTY NINE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS, with shipping a flat FORTY-SIX BUCKS in the CONUS, well padded and well packed.
THE FINE PRINT: NO RETURNS, this is old stuff here and is described as best as I can make it and take it (photos, that is). AK, HI PR buyers please wait for my invoice, as shipping will be higher. International shipping is through eBay GSP as far as I am concerned. Your use of sketchy drop-box re-shippers is AYOR and your business, not mine. No bidders with less than 10 positive feedback. Payment is due within 48 hours, please— this isn’t food or shelter, it’s to be purchased with money you have when you place your bid.
