    Description

Ever feel like you are literally DROWNING in cornets and trumpets? No? Then you are not me. I need to get rid of the under-played instruments from my basement. Some of them
are great, some mediocre at best, but they all looked interesting at one time or another. Maybe they’ll be interesting for you too.
This is a very pretty COUESNON C TRUMPET, with a slide extension so it can played in Bb as well. Couesnon is most famous for their flugelhorns, which defined the instrument as far as jazz went, but their heritage goes all the way back to the very beginnings of brass instrument manufacture in the 1820s. Among the features of the better Couesnons is the year of manufacture is stamped inside a little ‘pineapple’ (some say it’s a pomegranate) on the bell. This one has ’48’ in its pineapple, so it was made in 1948. It’s in good shape, with good silver, good compression on all valves and all slides moving. It’s a lightweight horn, similar to a Buescher LW 400, meant for jazz probably (Kenny Dorham and Roy Eldridge were contemporary endorsers). Selling because I don’t play much C trumpet, and I got an old JW York & Sons C horn for when I do. Low start bid of SEVENTY NINE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS. Two ways to ship this: 1) in the case shown and an outer box for FORTY-NINE BUCKS anywhere in the CONUS, or 2) NO CASE, in a plain cardboard box well cushioned, TWENTY-NINE BUCKS in the CONUS (Elden Benge himself used to do this, so who are you to say it’s wrong?); both ways include insurance.
THE FINE PRINT: NO RETURNS, this is old stuff here and is described as best as I can make it and take it (photos, that is). AK, HI PR buyers please wait for my invoice, as shipping will be higher. International shipping is through eBay GSP as far as I am concerned. Your use of sketchy drop-box re-shippers is AYOR and your business, not mine. No bidders with less than 10 positive feedback. Payment is due within 48 hours, please— this isn’t food or shelter, it’s to be purchased with money you have when you place your bid.
