VINTAGE SODA ACID FIRE EXTINGUISHER HOSE "PYRENE"

Description

This is a vintage hose for a soda acid fire extinguisher and it was made by the Pyrene Co.  It is in good condition and is about 18" long.  It has a 2 piece brass hose clamping device on the top.  A newer soda acid model would have had a threaded fitting on the end.  This has the old style lead nozzle.  In most cases the lead nozzles were replaced with plastic nozzles.  The hazard with the lead nozzle was the soft lead would flatten out if the extinguisher was bumped hard enough at the nozzle.  When the extinguisher  was used with a damage nozzle, the pressure  would rupture the hose.  In the middle of the hose, there is the familiar "PYRENE OVAL" with Pyrene printed in the middle.  It's hard to see, I can't get a good closeup with my camera. This would make a addition to a Pyrene with a missing or damaged hose.
