VINTAGE BRASS PYRENE 1 1/2 QT. HAND PUMP FIRE EXTINGUISHER WITH BRACKET

Description

This is an EMPTY vintage brass fire extinguisher made by the Pyrene MFG. Co. of Newark, NJ and it is the 1 1/2 qt. size.  It has been polished and lacquered for years of care free enjoyment.  The wall mount bracket has a new coat of black paint.   This has some small dings and scratches and they can be seen in the pictures.  The biggest dig is just to the right of the label at the bottom.  This still  displays very well.   The label retains  all of its original black paint.  The T pump handle moves in and out as when new. I would estimate that this is a late 1940's or early 1950's model.  Included is a copy of an ad from a late 1940's W. S. Nott catalog which was selling this model with bracket for .00.  Using the google inflation calculator, for 1949, this would cost 8.00 today.  These were very popular on cars, trucks, planes, motorcycles etc.  This would make a nice addition to a collection or on display on a vintage vehicle.
