Significant Characteristics:Bell flare section is cupro-nickel while the stem is brass.

You can look high and low for this model .... but I doubt you will find a better one !! This deal comes with a nice, beautiful near mint alternative AfterMarket case with am OLDS replacement / remanufactured case emblem attached.  Looks nice like OEM..
This model  trumpet replaced the Olds "Standard" trumpet in 1948 which had been Olds "Standard of Excellence model" the world over for 2 decades. The Olds streamlined bracing, tempered bell, and short, light valve action, true scale conical proportions for a trumpet that was very rich in tone, flexibility, and response.  This "standard" was carried over to the Studio Model and they further enhanced the horn with a multi-metal brass and cupro-nickel bell! The new Olds description for this new Studio Model was described as having a "Brilliant Bell" with unusual metals and characteristics with rich tonal response. The new combination of brass and nickel in the bell allows maximum amount of free vibration assuring this rich full tone quality. The "Standard" model was discontinued as this "Studio" model was a direct replacement.
This horn is in fabulous shape, absolutely NO PINGS, DINGS or DENTS, a little pitting here and there, some scratches and slight lacquer spots... All slides move great, valves are fast and fantastic. This horn is clean, clean, clean It plays just awesome.  Nice full tonalities, and not stuffy.  My range is a high F or G and this horn definitely soars in the upper register.  I am not technically qualified to say if the lacquer is all original, but it does look such to me. You will not be disappointed with this great old horn.  It comes with a generic hard case, near mint condition, with a reproduction metal OLDS emblem attached.  It comes with an older OLDS original and GOLD PLATED #5 original mouthpiece !  Don't miss out on this one.  It is excellent for the advancing student and professional alike.  Please do not mistake or compare this Studio Model to the Olds Studio models made in the 1970's. These older 1950's Studios are far superior than the later 1970's ones. This model was made when Reynolds and Kanstul were at the helm of Olds production !!
