If you are rebuilding a Chevy small block engine it is a good idea to replace the oil pan bolts during reassembly. You could buy a set of old style hex head machine screws and have it look original. Also, hex head fasteners are boring, not very good looking and can’t be polished very well. Our button heads bolts are curvy, classy and can be shined to a mirror finish. Also, the zinc or black oxide plating on most hex head bolts will soon be gone and you will be left with rust. Chrome fasteners are a beautiful option, but plating peels, chips and blisters in a few years and you will again have rust. The bolts in our oil pan fastener kit are made of grade 18-8 stainless steel (18% chromium & 8% nickel) to prevent rust forever.
This is a simple, easy and inexpensive up-grade for your Chevy Small Block engine.
Included in this kit are 18 stainless steel, internal tooth, lock washers to help secure your oil pan to your block.
These bolts do NOT have polished heads. We did this to keep the price down. However, they will shine up easily with a rag and some “Blue Magic” polish. Also, a few seconds on a buffing wheel with some compound and they will have a mirror finish.
Note: We have recently changed this pack to include BOTH star washers and flat washers. The choice is yours. Pictures to follow soon.
