This is beautiful example of a very rare, large-bore (25) Paris Selmer Grand Prix trumpet from 1955. The 25 (.470) bore was the largest size commercially available of these horns. The brass utilized on vintage French-made trumpets has a rich, beautiful tone that is unmatched in modern horns. This horn has developed a beautiful, dark patina, & has been serviced by Landress Brass in NYC, including ultra sonic cleaning & valve alignment.
Paris Selmers were famously used by a young Miles Davis, as well as Harry “Sweets” Edison, Harry James, Louis Armstrong, & Maurice Andre, amongst many others.
