    Up for sale is this S.E. Shires Model CLW , serial number #12xx , Medium Large Bore
    This is a horn that I personally own, and am clearing out along with a lot of other musical gear and items as I prepare for a move.
    The instrument is in very nice condition! The only flaws with the horn is the area of the front Z brace that shows signs of being pushed in, and repaired. (See images) While the repair was expertly done, and it isn’t obviously noticeable, on close inspection you can see some scaring from where the material was stretched and brought back to shape. The Z brace was also re-soldered. Additionally there are some spots of bubbling plating on the leadpipe and signs of dezincification. (Red rot) The pipe is not leaking and still has plenty of life left, however you’ll want to consider a new pipe down the road. The rest of the horn is in excellent condition, and the valves and slides move smoothly and freely.
    This is a great playing trumpet. Everything slots nicely, and the horn is very responsive.
    The instrument has been professionally deep cleaned. The slides and valves treated for smooth and quick action. The valves have been properly aligned and hold excellent compression.
    This comes with a ProTech “Pro Pac” Classic Slimline case which is easy to carry and travel with, and provides ridged hard shelled protection from damage. (A 0 value)
    The Model CLW is one of the instruments that falls into the Custom series at Shires, and would normally carry a price tag of over 00 NEW. This horn is priced nearly 50% off!! This was also produced in the original Hopedale, MA factory location prior to Steve Shires unfortunate departure from the company, and before the company was importing as many parts and instruments from China as they do now.
