New Era began making caps for the Red Sox in 1988.  The 3 interior tags, Authentic Diamond Collection, NEW ERA Major League Pro Model and the 7-3/8 New Era Size tag are all age appropriate and correct.  The visor's green underside is also age appropriate, as the BoSox switched to gray visor bottoms in 1993.  This cap does not have the rectangular MLB Batter embroidered patch which made it's first appearance in 1992, narrowing the time frame for this gamer to 1988-1991.  The green underside of the visor has a thick, age worn/faded
black sharpie
#21 for Clemens' uniform number.  Under the #21 is a bold, perfect 10, vintage style Roger Clemens autograph.  The white sweat band shows nice wear in the form of soiling and sweat staining, most prominent in the front forehead area. The cap still retains it's original shape and displays beautifully.
