Making mousse from scratch can be tricky as it can easily be over whipped, resulting in a lumpy and sandy texture, or under whipped, resulting in a dense and too soft liquid that does not hold up in your finished products. This mousse mix ensures a perfectly aerated yet creamy mousse that not only looks picture-perfect, but tastes delicious, too! Use this decadent milk chocolate mousse to fill pies, cakes, crepes, or pate a choux, use the mousse to frost cakes, or fill a pastry bag and pipe the mousse onto ice cream, milkshakes, or sundaes!
To prepare, pour 16 oz. of cold milk and contents of mousse mix into a mixing bowl. With a whisk attachment or whisk if preparing by hand, beat at medium speed for 2 minutes, then at high speed for 3 to 5 minutes until the consistency is fluffy. Add any other desired flavorings and beat for two minutes more. Pipe or fill into dessert or glass and chill for 2 to 4 hours before serving. Each mix yields approximately (16) 4 oz. servings. Using this mousse mix cuts down on labor cost in your establishment, as well as reduces the risk of human error.
