    Description

Offered here for your consideration is a real significant piece of Italian, American & World history, an autographed personal note to "Mrs. Milholland (06 Aug 1886 - 25 Nov 1916)" from "G. Marconi" (25 Apr 1874 - 20 Jul 1937), inventor of the "Wireless (1895)"! This personal note to Mrs. Milholland was penned 22 Mar 1913. There is historical significance regarding both of these people, as they were life-long "friends". History tells us that Mr. Marconi invented the wireless and the Marconi Company installed one wireless system on the HMS Titanic which aided in the rescue of surviving passengers (to which folks are trying to determine if that unit can be removed from the wreck of the Titanic). Inez Milholland was an American Woman's Suffrage Leader, married Dutch Businessman Eugen Boissevain in 1913, was a leader in and a member of the "National Woman's Party" in the early 20th century movement. Mrs. Milholland passed away in 1916 at the age of 30 from "Pernicious Anemia"; she had literally worked/exhausted herself to death. Mr. Marconi proposed marriage to Mrs. Milholland when she was 18 in 1903, she accepted but Mr. Marconi went on to marry another woman in 1904. This truly is a one-of-a-kind piece. The short note states:
"22nd May 1913    My dear Mrs. Milholland   The enclosed I am sure will make you happy and I'm glad all is well. Yours ever sincerely  G Marconi"
(Please see all pictures and condition description).
The picture and the note are both in protective sleeves and I will not remove them from the sleeves for the pictures, I apologize for the glare. The note comes with a James Spence Authentication letter, Authentication Certification # XX18953.
