Evette & Schaeffer Trumpet 1969 (Buffet) - Refurbished - Case and Buffet MP Bore: .470 Serial# 682***
An amazing playing horn with open low range that can really take some air and produce some HUGE tone volume. These later models with 6 digit serial numbers are speculated to have been built by Bohm Meinl (which would make production in Germany, though there is no country of manufacture marking on this horn), the core of these horns which is obviously EMO / Buffet lasted until 1972 with this one being the final production model. Louis Armstrong helped make the EMO horns famous in the 50's, these E&S American horns are a later generation of those EMO builds imported into the USA by Karl Fischer. All slides are smooth, 3rd slide is buttah with slide dump and water key, caps thread easily and valves feel very nice with excellent compression. Lacquer is 80% and underneath that lacquer the horn really looks excellent showing no major trauma or repairs. Original Buffet Crampon case is solid and in very good condition with wear around the outside corners, horn also comes with an original Buffet Crampon 7C mouthpiece.

Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed
Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by

Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour)
Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly
Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed
Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale
***Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case.
