Up for sale is a Used EA Couturier Conical Bore Silver Trumpet – RARE
Serial #1789 - valves are all stamped with the serial number
This is a very unique trumpet designed with rounded slide tubing.
Rounded slide tubing is fixed (not movable) on 1
st
, 2
nd
and 3
rd
valve slides.
There are 3 different Bb length main tuning slides for.
Per a fellow ebayer: "The 3 tuning slides all for Bb. Couturier tried to eliminate steps in the bore, and so intended the slides to be pushed all the way in, therefore he provided 3 Bb tuning slides. The player was instructed to use the one closest to the tuning pitch of the ensemble when pushed all the way in."
This has original parts and original factory silver plating.
The inside of the bell flare has a light gold wash which is still visible in the bottom of flare throat but most has been polished off from years polishing so it looks bright silver.
Our service department did a complete valve job to tighten the air compression.
We also ultrasonically cleaned the internal tubing, polished and find buffed the exterior for a beautiful appearance.
We had our local university professor play test it and his comments were “it plays great high and clean all the way down”.

There is a Karl Fuchs 72 Cornet mouthpiece but we don’t know if this was an original or a replacement.
Also included is a metal oil bottle and music lyre.
Both look to be original but again not sure on these.
