This listing is for a rare Bill Madlock Signed Autographed Pittsburgh Pirates Pill Box Hat / Cap, Cooperstown Collection, 4x Batting Champ. The hat is in excellent condition with no apparent holes, cuts or marks. Bill has signed the brim of the cap in silver pain pen. Sorry, there is no COA.  However, if you examine other Bill Madlock autographs here on Ebay or elsewhere on the internet, you'll see that its the real thing. We guarantee it will pass authentication by JSA or PSA/DNA. The Pill Box hat was brought back by MLB in 1976 for the American Bicentennial celebration. The Pirates continued to use the hat for several years, including their 1979 World Series Championship season. This hat

Bill Madlock is a former MLB third baseman and is well noted as having won four National League Batting Titles (1975, 1976, 1981 and 1983.) Playing for 5 MLB different teams between 1973 and 1987, Bill was noted for his fiery temper, which earned him the nickname "Mad Dog." Over his career as a player, Bill was ejected from 18 games. Bill is only one of three right-handed batters (Roberto Clemente and Tommy Davis being the others) to win multiple N.L. batting titles since 1960. Bill was a 3-time All-Star and we won a Worlds Series with the 1979 "We are Family" Pittsburgh Pirates.
