Description
Bach Stradivarius New York U.S.A..This is one of a kind, and super rare with full documentation from the initial purchase.
The initial purchaser, a student, couldn't play it very well and so it was sent back to the factory and tested by Vincent Bach himself and certified that the instrument was properly made and tested. She evidently learned how to play it.
The instrument was made between 1939 and 1940 and is a jazz player's dream. The bell was formed on a #7 mandrel, is a 59 medium bore, has a 48 bell thicknesses for a bright sound, with a #7 lead pipe. It plays well.
I sent this to J Landress brass in New York to have some minor work done on it where they removed some dings and it came back simply beautiful. They also told me that the first valve trigger was added sometime later; and I decided to keep it on the horn as it's unique to the horn.
Included in the sale are all of the sales receipts, factory correspondence, sales and care brochures, original key, original case and a Bach 7C mouthpiece.
This is a time capsule. I'm selling it to thin the herd, so to speak.
This will be either picked up in person or sent insured with a delivery signature required. The horn will be sent separately from the case and will be securely packaged and wrapped.
