Description
🔶Offered for sale is this Antique Tin Tube Fire Extinguisher🔶 “The Richmond Chemical Fire Extinguisher,” manufactured by the Richmond Chemical Company, Silver Spring, Maryland in the early 1900's.
🔶The metal tube measures, 22" long by 2" in diameter, with a metal ring at the top end. gilt type on a red background, great graphics with a Regal Gentleman illustrated at the top.
🔶The directions for use are printed on the tube and reads as follows “Hang on Strong Hook [when not in use]. Pull Down Quickly Thus Opening the Tube. Hurl the Powder Forcibly With Sweeping Motion Into Base of Flames. NEVER SPRINKLE. For Flue Fires: Throw a Few Handfuls Up Any Opening Below the Fire. HARMLESS to Person and Fabric.”

🔶Normal age wear with a few dents and scrapes, overall condition good.
🔶Judging by the weight it definitely feel full and never discharged.
🔶I realize it must be shipped and handled very carefully.. I put condition as “used” though I don’t think it has been opened.
🔶 I also would advise NOT to use this… Only for collecting.
