    Antique FIRE EXTINGUISHER The RICHMOND CHEMICAL Co. Silver Spring, MD.
    Circa 1900
    Offered for sale is this Vintage
    “The Richmond Chemical Fire Extinguisher,” manufactured by the Richmond Chemical Company, Silver Spring, Maryland in the  early 1900's. The metal tube measures, 22" long by 2" in diameter, with a metal ring at the top end. gilt type on a red background, great graphics with a Regal Gentleman illustrated at the top. The directions for use are printed on the tube and reads as follows “Hang on Strong Hook [when not in use]. Pull Down Quickly Thus Opening the Tube. Hurl the Powder Forcibly With Sweeping Motion Into Base of Flames. NEVER SPRINKLE. For Flue Fires: Throw a Few Handfuls Up Any Opening Below the Fire. HARMLESS to Person and Fabric.”
    Normal age wear with a few dents and scrapes, overall condition good.
