    A modern postcard of Shirley Chisholm and George Wallace in the painting
    American Gothic.
    It is from a photomontage titled “Politics Make Strange Bedfellows” by Alfred Gescheidt.
    Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman elected to Congress (in 1968) and George Wallace was the segregationist governor of Alabama. Both were Democratic candidates for president in 1972.
    This postcard was published by the American Postcard Company of New York in the 1980s.
    It is
    about 4 x 6 inches (10x15cm) size. It is unused and in near-new condition.
