    Description

1795 Anti-Slavery Abolition Token Halfpenny Kneeling Slave In Chains
This is a classic example of early British anti-slavery item. The obverse shows a kneeling slave in chains. Obverse: "AM I NOT A MAN AND A BROTHER." Reverse: "MAY SLAVERY & OPPRESSION CEASE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD." This token is about a size of half-dollar and struck in the 1790s. This token is a sad reminder of the slavery days. Classic anti-slavery image!
Nice color and surfaces, edge with Dublin, Cork, and Belfast.
